Bluebird Family Eye Care is Hiring a Receptionist- Part Time Near Blackfoot, ID

We are looking for a part time receptionist who is able to work Tuesdays and Fridays and fill in other days occasionally. Ideal candidate will have a positive outlook and attitude. Experience working in an office setting is preferred. Willingness to talk to patients and create a warm inviting atmosphere. Please be willing to provide customer service that is over and above what is expected. To be successful candidate will be willing and able to follow written procedures. It's important to have strong attention to detail and good typing skills. Applicant will be excited to grow and be a great team player!

PURPOSE:

Most activity in the eye care office starts with the Receptionist. The role of this individual is

To keep the appointment book full, keeping rescheduled appointments to a minimum and patient flow smooth and efficient.
To ensure that our patients feel welcome and comfortable with and in our office by correctly handling them from the first telephone contact, through their arrival and treatment at the office and departure with another visit scheduled.

Duties:

Be responsible for the flow of patients. If it jams up, find out why and do what you can to expedite the flow.
Be responsible for directing patients to educational information that will be helpful to them.
Make sure new patients are scheduled properly.
Answer the phone and make outgoing phone calls.
Be responsible for the completion and routing of all forms that pertain to your area. Always have an adequate supply on hand.
Be responsible for compiling the initial patient chart.
Keep the reception/waiting area clean and orderly so it is a pleasant place for patients to wait.
Check on Insurance eligibility prior to appointments.
Schedule referral appointments as necessary.
Collect fees.
